Jacqueline Patterson was born with cerebral palsy, a congenital disorder that affects her motor functions. As a result of her condition, she suffers from a severe stutter and major pain and weakness on her right side. This video showcases the amazing effect of cannabis on her condition.

Cerebal Palsy is an umbrella term encompassing a group of non-progressive, non-contagious motor conditions that cause physical disability in human development, chiefly in the various areas of body movement - Wikipedia

At some point very early in life, either while a baby is still growing in the womb, during birth or shortly after, something happens to interfere with the normal development of the brain or to injure the brain tissues. This abnormal development or injury disrupts the nerve signals between the brain and the muscles, leading to problems with movement, posture and coordination as the child grows up. While some people are severely affected, others have only minor disruption, depending on which parts of the brain are not functioning properly. It's estimated that as many as 1 in every 400 children may have cerebral palsy. - BBC Health

----------

Jacqueline Patterson, a Missouri mother of 4, has been in the media spotlight ever since she shared her story with the world in the 2007 documentary, In Pot We Trust. Patterson has suffered from cerebral palsy from a young age, a debilitating neuro-muscular disorder that has set the stage for her lifetime of struggles. Fortunately, this all changed after Patterson started smoking pot.

Patterson's diagnosis found her with painful muscle stiffness, as well as a severe speech impediment which restricted the pronunciation of her words to the point where they would literally seem stuck at the tip of her tongue. The condition normally affects body movement, muscle control, muscle coordination, muscle tone, reflex, posture and balance. People with cerebral palsy may also experience visual, learning, hearing, speech, epilepsy and intellectual impairments.

Jacqueline Patterson, mother of 4, says medical cannabis saved her and children's lives. Patterson believes that without it, she wouldn't be half the mother she is today.
Jacqueline Patterson, mother of 4, says medical cannabis saved her and children's lives. Patterson believes that without it, she wouldn't be half the mother she is today.
"I hate my speech so much," she said at her marijuana possession trial hearing in Missouri, The Pitch reports. "I drrr- … I dr- … I drove my husband to suicide, you know." The widow believes their arguments and her inability to forgive him for making fun of her stutter is what caused him to hang himself in their basement.

In 2007, Patterson almost lost custody of her children due to marijuana possession. In retaliation Patterson headed to California, where medical cannabis is legal, to plead her case with successful avail.  Patterson says that marijuana has changed her life.

"I — I — I smoked cannabis for the first time when I was 14," Patterson said to the Pitch. "For the first time, my muscles were not tense. And words slid from my mouth, from gggghhh — from me at a fluid pace instead of sssss-stuck on my tongue like a g-ghh — like a train wreck."

Patterson says her medical smoking habit is mainly for her kids, so that she can be the mother they deserve her to be.

"I'd be half the mother I am without [marijuana] because I'd be in too much pain," she said. "I smoke to be the mother to my children that they deserve."

The video below showcases the powerful suppressing ability of medical cannabis on Patterson's cerebral palsy. Within seconds of smoking,  her speech impediment drastically improves.

The fact that someone suffering from a debilitating condition ever has to face challenges treating their symptoms with cannabis is completely backwards. Any government willing to take someone's kids away for smoking a naturally occurring plant absolutely needs a re-evaluation from its people.

Today Patterson spends her time as a medical cannabis advocate living out of California. "It's been nice ... to not worry that I'm going to get a knock on the door for Child Protective Services," she said to legislators. "It's nice to not be treated like a criminal."

Although Patterson now lives without worry of losing her own children for her marijuana use, she knows this isn't yet the case for many others suffering from debilitating conditions across the U.S. and other parts of the world. Patterson continues to push for the extended legalization of medical cannabis with high hopes.

Turismo Associati has on it's You Tube account (LINK HERE) many controversial videos. One of these, named: John F. Kennedy: The Speech About Secret Societies That Assassinated Him, subtitled in italian: Discorso: John F. Kennedy e le societá segrete and in romanian with the name: Discursul lui John F. Kennedy despre societatile secrete.

It's all about the famous speech made by John Fitzgerald Kennedy on 27 of april 1961 about the secret societies and their conspiring that killed JFK. HERE IS A LINK if you want to read more about the subject.

The truth is, since May 19, 2014, less then six months ago, these three videos - made with audio from the public domain (the registration of a public speech made by the United States President J.F.K. - were systematically trolled and censured from YouTube view and Google Adsense monetization. All of them!

Let me tell you about the last problem for the italian version. We've received, yet again, another Copyright Notice.

Who has the interest on censuring this important message left by one of the most appreciated president of the U.S.?

While prescription painkillers cause thousands of overdose deaths each year, no one has ever died from a marijuana overdose.

But is it even possible to overdose on weed? The answer is no, according to the National Cancer Institute. And here's why:

"Because cannabinoid receptors, unlike opioid receptors, are not located in the brainstem areas controlling respiration, lethal overdoses from Cannabis and cannabinoids do not occur."

In other words, marijuana and opioids affect different pathways of the body. Opioid pathways, also known as receptors, are present in areas of the brain that control breathing. As a result, taking too many painkillers can cause a person to stop breathing.

But marijuana acts on a completely different set of pathways. These pathways are called cannabinoid receptors and they do not affect respiration. Thus, marijuana cannot cause someone to stop breathing, no matter how much they ingest.

Therapeutic Index

Another way of measuring a drug's safety is by its therapeutic index. The therapeutic index is the ratio between a drug's lethal dose and its therapeutic dose (amount that causes a therapeutic effect).

Studies show that marijuana has a therapeutic index of 40,000:1. This means someone would have to take 40,000 times the normal amount of marijuana in order to die.

Opioid-based painkillers have much lower therapeutic indexes. For example, the therapeutic index of morphine is only 70:1.

Taking Too Much

It may be impossible to die by marijuana overdose, but that doesn't mean you can't take too much of it.

As Dr. Sunil Aggarwal explains in the following video, large doses of marijuana can lead to negative symptoms, such as acute psychosis and paranoia.

This occurs more often in novice users who are unfamiliar with dosing. Taking marijuana orally also poses a greater risk, since the effects are delayed and thus harder to predict.

But with all that said, the negative symptoms of a marijuana overdose are only temporary and should wear off within 24 hours. Unlike other drugs, taking too much marijuana won't cost you your life.

Marijuana, unlike most modern day medicine, contains a wide range of chemical compounds. Scientists have identified over 60 unique molecules in cannabis known as cannabinoids, which include THC and CBD. Many other non-cannabinoid compounds are produced by the plant that also have regulatory effects.

For example, terpenes, the molecules responsible for marijuana's smell, have been shown to block some cannabinoid receptor sites in the brain while promoting cannabinoid binding in others. As a result, terpenes are believed to affect many aspects of how the brain takes in THC or CBD, while offering various therapeutic benefits of their own.

In fact, while THC has gotten most of the attention, studies suggest many of the compounds in marijuana work together to produce a synergy of effects. This is known as the 'entourage effect.'

Understanding Strains

Marijuana comes in thousands of different varieties, or strains. Different marijuana strains have vastly different chemical profiles that cause different experiences in the same person.

This explains why sometimes marijuana can make a person feel calm, while other times it can make that same person feel anxious or paranoid.

The chemical components of marijuana include, but are not limited to, terpenes, ketones, esters, lactones, alcohols, fatty acids, and steroids. The effects of all these chemicals working together and regulating each other will be much different than the effects of any one chemical working alone.

In other words, marijuana is made up of thousands of different chemicals that work together to produce some general effect. Change the recipe and you change the effect.

The Entourage Effect — An Example

One of the starkest examples of the entourage effect was a British study that gave patients pure THC intravenously one day, and then a mixture of THC and CBD intravenously a week later.

Nicky Taylor, the host of the BBC documentary "Should I Smoke Dope?," participated in the study and filmed it for the world to see:

Although she kept referring to cannabidiol (CBD) inaccurately as "cannabinoid," the end result was so illustrative of the entourage effect that it's hard to be too annoyed.

In the video, she reported feeling horrible with just THC, "like being at a funeral." Yet with the THC/CBD mixture, she was unable to contain her laughter throughout the session. THC and CBD appeared to interact somehow, which has been shown by other studies as well.

Incidentally, she was kept blind to which cannabinoid mixture she was given.

Marinol vs. Marijuana

Marinol is a prescription drug that contains pure synthetic THC. Marinol was approved by the FDA in 1985 for treating the side effects of chemotherapy. However, many doctors and patients have come to find Marinol a poor substitute for cannabis.

This is most likely related to marijuana's entourage effect, as CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta explains:

"When the drug became available in the mid-1980s, scientists thought it would have the same effect as the whole cannabis plant. But it soon became clear that most patients preferred using the whole plant to taking Marinol.

Researchers began to realize that other components, such as CBD, might have a larger role than previously realized."

In fact, the 'entourage effect' was a term coined by Dr. Ethan Russo, who, in 2011, published a paper in the British Journal of Pharmacology describing the synergistic contributions of other compounds in cannabis.

Scientists like Dr. Russo are now using whole cannabis to develop pharmaceuticals such as Sativex, in order to include the benefits of marijuana's many compounds and their entourage effect.

"...the whole system has to go. The modern criminal justice system is incompatible with neuroscience. It simply is not possible to have the two of them in the same room." - Robert Maurice Sapolsky

Throughout his science investigative career, Alan Alda has met with Dr. Sapolsky several times. In this video they discuss what Neuroscience could contribute to the alternatives to incarceration: rehabilitation, therapy, and more. Dr. Sapolksy is well-known for his early work studying primates in Kenya. His current research revolves around stress levels and the relationship with neurodegeneration.

In this extended version, Alan asks Sapolsky his views about free will, morality, and what outside factors could contribute to making a person break the law.

"My psychedelic experience showed me that in life, there is only "the Moment" (Carpe Diem - Seize the day). Everything, is a moment. All our life, past, future and present, is only a moment (a second). When I went to Amsterdam in 2008 and ate the magic psilocybin mushroom I understood that. I was literally travelling in time (and I know, I felt the last moment on this planet [my eyes fill with tears now, when I recall to you that moment in bed, during the night]. With the eyes closed or opened in the dark, it was just feeling. No hallucinations or fake ideas, just "feeling the rain" knowing how it is to be dead (or on the verge of it): so beautiful, so much peace and happiness, so much understanding on that last moment. It was a moment in 2001 when we became friends, it is a moment know when you read this line, this word, and it will only be a moment when, many years in the future, we will pass on the other side of morning. And remember my friend, my very good friend, not to be afraid then, because I will be there for you, holding your hand, hugging you. What I felt? I felt I was watched, Nature was asking me what was my opinion or solution to life. I knew that when my thin raft will sink, all my energy will become, with the dirt just another mushroom. I understood that those shrooms had all the knowledge from all the people that lived on this planet Earth (at least). I felt again something I too often forget: that life is magic, beautiful, worth living and dying for. I understood that we are manipulated with politics, religion and finance by evil forces just to steal our love, energy and happiness. I knew that calling the magic mushrooms or the cannabis illegal was not only a theft for the life, liberties of the individual and the well being of the human race, but a crime against Mother Nature, against the right of any person, any, to have the chance of understanding WHY is here, living on this Terra Ferma and what could be after. It's only a moment, a split second, one after another, just a frame that make our life movie, but if we stop to observe the spectacle we're in on this theater scene, we notice only a frame, a split second: the Moment. The movie will begin in five moments, the mindless voice announced; all those unseated will await the next show..." - Arturo Find

The World is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real, because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round, and it has thrills and chills and is very brightly colored, and it's very loud. And it's fun, for a while.

Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they've begun to question, 'Is this real, or is this just a ride?', and other people have remembered, and they've come back to us and they say 'Hey, don't worry. Don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.' and we KILL THOSE PEOPLE.

"Shut him up! We have alot invested in this ride! SHUT HIM UP! Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account, and my family. This just has to be real."

It's just a ride.

But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that. You ever noticed that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter, because ... It's just a ride.

And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear wants you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead see all of us as one.

Here's what we can do to change the world right now, to a better ride:

Take all that money we spent on weapons and defense each year and instead spend it feeding, clothing, and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and WE CAN EXPLORE SPACE, TOGETHER, BOTH INNER AND OUTER, forever ... in peace.

Sky's Sarah Hewson talks to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London. VIDEO.

Chelsea Elizabeth Manning (born Bradley Edward Manning, December 17, 1987) is a United States Army soldier who was convicted in July 2013 of violations of the Espionage Act and other offenses, after releasing the largest set of classified documents ever leaked to the public. Manning was sentenced in August 2013 to 35 years confinement with the possibility of parole in eight years, and to be dishonorably discharged from the Army. Manning is a trans woman who, in a statement the day after sentencing, said she had felt female since childhood, wanted to be known as Chelsea, and desired to begin hormone replacement therapy. From early life and through much of her Army life, Manning was known as Bradley; she was diagnosed with gender identity disorder while in the Army.

Assigned in 2009 to an Army unit in Iraq as an intelligence analyst, Manning had access to classified databases. In early 2010, she leaked classified information to WikiLeaks and confided this to Adrian Lamo, an online acquaintance. Lamo informed Army Counterintelligence, and Manning was arrested in May that same year. The material included videos of the July 12, 2007 Baghdad airstrike, and the 2009 Granai airstrike in Afghanistan; 250,000 U.S. diplomatic cables; and 500,000 Army reports that came to be known as the Iraq War logs and Afghan War logs. Much of the material was published by WikiLeaks or its media partners between April and November 2010.

Manning was ultimately charged with 22 offenses, including aiding the enemy, which was the most serious charge and could have resulted in a death sentence. She was held at the Marine Corps Brig, Quantico in Virginia, from July 2010 to April 2011 under Prevention of Injury status—which entailed de facto solitary confinement and other restrictions that caused domestic and international concern—before being transferred to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where she could interact with other detainees. She pleaded guilty in February 2013 to 10 of the charges. The trial on the remaining charges began on June 3, 2013, and on July 30 she was convicted of 17 of the original charges and amended versions of four others, but was acquitted of aiding the enemy. She is serving her sentence at the maximum-security U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth.

Reaction to Manning's disclosures, arrest, and sentence was mixed. Denver Nicks, one of her biographers, writes that the leaked material, particularly the diplomatic cables, was widely seen as a catalyst for the Arab Spring that began in December 2010, and that Manning was viewed as both a 21st-century Tiananmen Square Tank Man and an embittered traitor. Reporters Without Borders condemned the length of the sentence, saying that it demonstrated how vulnerable whistleblowers are.
