The SCIENCE

I stumbled on an article in Scientific American, december 2004

they had an article on marijuana as The Brain's Own Marijuana and introduced the idea

that the body produces compounds that are very similar to those found in marijuana or cannabis

Cannabis actually goes up stream, it provides feedback from the postsynaptic nerve

to the presynaptic nerve which is unheard in neurochemistry where

all neurotransmissions were unidirectional and all of the sudden swimming

against that force a little cannabinoid molecule that tied the hole system together.

The phytocannabinoids from this plant augment the body's attempt to restore

and increase function to a normal level.

So it mimics the regulatory system of cellular physiology

and recently the Food and Drug Administration has approved of CBD

which is a cannabinoid like THC, one of 80 cannabinoids.

The federal patent compares vitamin C, vitamin E and CBD or cannabidiol.

CBD turned out to be more potent than either of those two.

Non Psychoactive

...thing that I warn my patients out is

if you're going to be juicing this flower and this leaves you're going to be doing this high dose,

non psychoactive, cannabinoid dietary approach, please do not heat it.

When you heat cannabis you make it psychoactive which for a large part of the community

the psychoactivity of a plant is the measure of its medical quality but its really quite the inverse.

To heat cannabis in any way you're destroying some of the medicinal proprieties of it

To use the plant effectively we have to use it the way it evolved over 34 million years,

which is raw, because when is raw the THC is bonded as THC acid

it requires aging, drying, so as a hunter-gatherer we gather this plant, we know as well

as this plant ages it changes character and suddenly has a psychoactive effect.

Dr. Brett Wright, M.D.: I think that's the most exciting area of cannabis research:

is looking at non psychoactive cannabinoids.

Because if you do heat it you'll decarboxylate the THC acid and you're going

to have 600 mg of THC acid with the CBD acid and be unconscious probably the better part of the week.

Between heating the plant whether that's in a sucker, a cookie or baked good, butter,

vaporized, smoked, all those techniques convert THC acid which is not psychoactive into THC

and provide you with that 10 mg dose,

but if you eat the plant raw then THC acid is the way is found in the plant and not psychoactive.

The juicing allows to get up to the 500 to 600 mg which is 60 times more than you can tolerate if it was heated.

This treatment is not psychoactive where people would have to be stoned when they take it

they can take it and go to work and play with their kids

It's hard for me to understand the laws against something like green leaf therapy

and to think that Prednisone is legal.

it says it has no medical value under that act but at the same time

the Federal Government has been funding research on marijuana for years and decades and

even patented certain strains of marijuana because they recognized it has its medical value.

The California Narcotic Officers' Association does not believe in Medical Marijuana,

they believe it's all a big scam and that's how they train law enforcement officers.

Law enforcement is allowed to take a percentage of all assets that are forfeited and seized

under the state and federal asset forfeiture law,

so it takes the really enlightened passion of law enforcement officer to recognize that they use

the Medical Marijuana laws are designed to protect patients.

Tom Allman, Mendocino County Sheriff: I was trained: when somebody had marijuana you took them to jail.

It was no medicine. The use for marijuana as an illegal substance and the people went to jail for.

In 1996 California took a huge leap. I didn't support Proposition 215 because of the education I had,

the experience I had and what I've seen through the illegal marijuana gardens that I've seen throughout my career.

Since 1996 I have changed my opinion somewhat: I believe there is a very clear medicinal use for marijuana,

that being said I believe that there are a large percentage of people who use marijuana as an excuse

to either make profits or for recreation. The people who use marijuana for the true intended use

Proposition 215 (or the Compassionate Use Act of 1996) is a California law concerning the use of medical cannabis. It was enacted, on November 5, 1996.
There's many more things that law enforcement can be focused on than Medicinal Marijuana.

I don't want to give the impression at all that I support people who are growing marijuana

for medical purposes 364 days of the year and then 1 day a year they make a big sale for a couple of hundred

thousands dollars and they are commercial sellers a day of the year. They are the people that are causing

problems for the people who really and truly need and can use medical marijuana.

of Dr. Courtney's work with non psychoactive cannabinoids and senator Colombera's work with cancer patients.

There are now facilities for testing of plants and there's been more progress made in the last 5 or 6 months,

a new strain in from Spain called "Cannatonic", 6.9 percent CBD.

That's 700% increase over "Northern Lights" which is our previous high producer.

I would like to find strains that have all of the cannabinoids present in an amount that's useful

I'd like to produce strains that are adapted to environment

In Luxembourg we're producing thousands of thousands of thousands of seeds to raise the money

to give away half a pound of seeds, because if that person grows an acre of cannabis and feeds a family

an incredible food source, an incredible preventative medicine source and an incredible therapeutic source

and at the same time they're sucking 5 times as much CO2 out of the environment as an acre of trees

First we have to change Convention Treaty no.1 which was the convention that the UN put out in 1961

that says cannabis is a crime, if you have it, if you grow it, if is in your possession you should be in prison.

That dogma has dominated the world.

Right now, they're asking for input from the World Health Organization and the process of writing a letter

stating that this is a dietary essential, it's not a criminal thing, because we have to change

that treaty before we can go into Central South-America and say:

you grow an acre of this plant, feed your family, prevent illnesses.

So, Cannabis International wants: legalizing the plant globally, giving it back to people as a food source,

prevent illness is so much better then waiting until you have disease.

With my own experience, in all the patients that I've spoken to,

I believe that it's not an isolated incident, that this is the best medication.

Iboga (Tabernanthe iboga) cutting

Native to western Central Africa, Iboga is a perennial rainforest plant and hallucinogen that can stimulate the central nervous system and induce visions. Tabernanthe Iboga can grow up to approximately 2 meters; in the right conditions it can grow up to 10 meters.

This Iboga cutting allows you to grow an Iboga plant at home. The cutting is shipped in a glass tube with agar, to ensure it survives the journey. As soon as you receive it, carefully take the cutting out of the casing and wash all the agar from the roots. Next, plant it in a pot and put it in the filter bag (included) to let it harden. Keep the Iboga moist at all times and slowly poke holes in the bag to let it acclimatize to dryer air. If the plant becomes stressed, you can cover up the holes with tape until it recovers.

Mexican Tarragon (Tagetes lucida) live plant

A live plant of Mexican Tarragon (Tagetes lucida), to be planted in your outdoor garden or balcony pots. Tagetes Lucida, also known as Sweet marigold, is a member of the Sunflower family. It is a beautiful, bright green perennial plant from the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico.

Peruvian Torch (Trichocereus peruvianus)

Another beautiful member of the "San Pedro" family, also known as the Peruvian Torch (Trichocereus peruvianus). This cactus has been used as a religious sacrament by a small number of Indian tribes in northern Peru. It’s probably the most powerful and magical specie from the Trichocereus family. The spines from this cactus are brown, but they turn grey as they get older.

T. peruvianus contains about the same concentration of mescaline as the San Pedro T. pachanoi cactus.

This cactus is a rapid and easy grower. It can be easily grown from seed. It tolerates a lot when it comes to its ideal growing circumstances. Therefore this cactus is perfect for the beginning cultivator. Under normal circumstances it will grow about 30 centimetres each year. In the summer it needs a lot of sun. A few hours of direct sunlight and the rest of the day indirect sunlight is the optimal sun exposure. When the roots have fully grown it needs only a little bit of water. Standard cactus soil will do for growing this species.

The small thornless Peyote cactus (Lophophora williamsii) originates from the south of Texas and northern Mexico. The plant is a very important religious sacrament in many native American cultures of Central and North-America. In Mexico the cactus is also sold as a medicine against blindness, fever and many other diseases.

The San Pedro cactus is the oldest known magical plant from South America. Originally, this plant comes from Ecuador and Peru, where it still grows on the highlands at 2000 - 3000 metres.

Semi and full crestate San Pedro

Two forms of the San Pedro crestate are available: a full crestate and semi crestate. Both forms are shipped in pot. The height varies between 20 to 30 cm.

The full crestate is a cactus that has immediately developed into a large fan shape, while the semi hasn't mutated until later, showing a crestate form on top of an otherwise (somewhat) regular San Pedro stem. Either form is quite a collector's item, but also equally potent as the regular cactus.

Usage

Try not to eat at least 6 hours before consuming the cacti. Remove the skin and thorns. Make sure you peel thinly as most of the active substances are concentrated just beneath the skin. You can now eat the meat around the wooden core. Beware of splinters. This cactus also tastes very bitter. The best thing to avoid the bitterness is to drink it with sour fruit juice, just as pineapple or grapefruit juice.

A tastier way of consuming the cacti is to make tea of them. Remove the thorns and cut the cacti in small pieces. Boil them for 2-3 hours in a closed pan with low heat. After letting it cool down you can mix it with fruit juice or honey.

The cacti can be dried by cutting them into slices and putting them in an oven on 50°C for 4 or 5 hours. Then you can eat the slices. An often occurring first effect is nausea. Some people say eating ginger helps to avoid the nausea.

Mescaline dosage

Remember that potency can vary greatly. Therefore it is best not to take the dosage all at once, but to build up the dosage gradually: take half of the dosage, wait an 60 to 90 minutes to see what the effect is, then if desired take half of what is left over and if necessary repeat. A San Pedro trip takes about two to two and a half hours to peak.

300 - 400 mg strong trip, last 6- 12 hours
450 - 500 mg possible ego dissolution, trip will last about 12 hours

100 g contains about 200 - 300 mg Mescaline - 0.2 - 0.3% mescaline per gram of cactus. Dry weight is 25% of the fresh weight (75% water)

Banner ads use a small portion of the screen to entice users to "click through" to a richer, full-screen experience such as a website or app store page. This guide shows you how to enable your app to serve a banner ad.

Windows Phone 8 apps are composed of controls the user sees, such as text areas, buttons and other UI elements. AdView is simply another control displaying ads that respond to user touch.

Adding a banner ad

Locate the AdView control in the Toolbox menu. Note that this is different from the AdControl control. Skip to step 2 if you've already got the AdView control in your toolbox.

Right click in the Toolbox and select Choose Items.... Click Browse on the menu that pops up and select the GoogleAds.dll file you previously downloaded (if you downloaded the package using NuGet, you should be able to find it in the packages folder in your project). Make sure the AdView control is selected from the GoogleAds namespace, then click OK.

Like many controls, AdView is most easily specified in XAML markup. One way to do this is to drag the AdView control from your Toolbox into the pane that shows the output of your XAML markup.

How to modify the app manifest file for Windows Phone 8?

The app manifest file, WMAppManifest.xml, contains properties and settings that are required when you submit your app to the Windows Phone Store. Crust Instructions:

1. Warm the cannabutter in the microwave for 10 seconds to soften it (not melted).

2. Combine all other ingredients into a large bowl. You may use your hands or a Dough Blender here.

3. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Apple Filling Ingredients:

5 Tart Peeled Apples 1 Cup Sugar 2 Tablespoons Flour 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon 1/4 Teaspoon Salt 1 Tablespoon Cider Vinegar 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

Apple Filling Instructions:Peel and slice apples and soak in water with a tablespoon of lemon juice for 10 minutes. Mix everything except the apples in a large bowl.Remove apple slices from water and place in the bowl with with the other ingredients. Mix them around in order to coat the apples as much as possible.
Putting it all together:Divide dough into 2 equal portions. Roll one portion into a flat circle 1/8 inch thick.Place and shape into baking pan. Put apples in crust and top with some butter to enhance the flavor of the apples (you may use cannabutter here if you'd like). Roll out the remaining portion of dough and place on top of pie. Use the back end of a knife to press the top to the bottom crust. Wrap tinfoil over the pan so it covers just the other portion of the top crust, so the edges do not burn. Bake at 400°F for 55 minutes or until the crust is a golden brown. Enjoy!

Investigators at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York have found evidence that cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive component of marijuana, can prevent the accumulation of fat caused by alcohol – known as fatty liver disease.

Over time, elevated fat levels in the liver can lead to more severe problems such as hepatitis and cirrhosis.

Published online Jan. 4th in the journal Free Radical Biology and Medicine, the researchers conducted the study by injecting mice with ethanol twice a day for 5 days to model the impact of binge drinking on the liver. Mice in the test group were given CBD prior to ethanol.

The results confirmed that CBD could prevent fat accumulation and other signs of liver injury. Molecular analysis pointed to multiple factors, including CBD’s anti-oxidant properties and its ability to stimulate pathways involved with fat breakdown.

The authors add that CBD can act as both an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory, and has been suggested to block the progression of arthritis and type 1 diabetes, among other things.

The hope is to develop a potential drug for the prevention of fatty liver disease, they write, noting that CBD has recently shown promise in blocking alcohol-induced brain damage as well.
