I sei siti proposti dalla Nagra (Cooperativa nazionale per l'immagazzinamento delle scorie radioattive) per la realizzazione di un deposito di scorie radioattive sono stati studiati minuziosamente: Südranden (SH), Weinland zurighese (ZH, TG), Bözberg (AG), Lägeren (AG/ZH), fascia pedemontana del Giura (AG, SO) e Wellenberg (NW). Entro il 2020 dovranno essere selezionati almeno due siti per categoria di scorie: quelle debolmente o mediamente radioattive e quelle altamente radioattive.

Il primo rapporto intermedio sulle ripercussioni economiche, avviato dall'UFAM nel 2011, evidenzia un lieve impatto sulle regioni selezionate dalla Confederazione. Durante l'utilizzazione dei siti, gli effetti negativi si faranno sentire in particolare sugli introiti turistici, fiscali e legati all'agricoltura, si legge in una nota odierna.

Ma gli indennizzi compenseranno queste perdite. Secondo le società che gestiscono le centrali nucleari, le regioni che ospiteranno depositi per scorie debolmente/mediamente radioattive saranno risarcite con circa 300 milioni di franchi, mentre quelle destinate ad accogliere le scorie altamente radioattive riceveranno 500 milioni. 800 milioni andranno infine alle regioni in cui sarà insediato un deposito combinato, precisa il rapporto.

I risultati di questo primo studio dedicato essenzialmente all'impatto economico sono stati presentati alle autorità regionali interessate, che possono ora fare le loro osservazioni. Le conclusioni saranno in seguito consegnate alla Nagra.

Le ripercussioni ecologiche e sociali saranno invece oggetto di un secondo rapporto. Secondo il calendario attuale, il documento finale sull'impatto di tutti gli indicatori sarà disponibile entro il 2013.

Institutul National de Statistica (INS) informeaza, luni, ca în luna mai anul acesta, rata somajului în forma ajustata sezonier a fost estimata la 7,7%, aflându-se în crestere cu 0,3 puncte procentuale atât fata de luna anterioara cât si fata de nivelul înregistrat în luna mai 2011.

Numarul somerilor (în vârsta de 15-74 ani), estimat pentru luna mai din anul curent este de 744 mii persoane, în crestere atât fata de luna precedenta (720 mii) cât si fata de aceeasi luna din anul precedent (733 mii).

Pe sexe, rata somajului pentru barbati o depaseste cu 1,7 puncte procentuale pe cea a femeilor (valorile respective fiind 8,4% în cazul persoanelor de sex masculin si 6,7% în cazul celor de sex feminin).

Pentru persoanele adulte (25-74 ani), rata somajului a fost estimata la 6,1% pentru luna mai 2012 (6,8% în cazul barbatilor si 5,3% în cel al femeilor).

Numarul somerilor în vârsta de 25-74 ani reprezinta 72,9% din numarul total al somerilor estimat pentru luna mai 2012.

Participants from Utah, Arizona, Idaho and elsewhere gathered in a public park to sign a "Declaration of Independence from Mormonism."

"This feels awesome," said Alison Lucas, from West Jordan, Utah, who took part in the rally amid soaring temperatures. "I don't know if I would have had the courage except in a group."

The Utah-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is known for its culture of obedience, and the mass ceremony was a seldom-seen act of collective revolt.

After gathering in the park, participants hiked a half-mile up nearby Ensign Peak, scaled in 1847 by church President Brigham Young to survey the spot where his Latter-day Saints would build a city.

At the top, those gathered gave three loud shouts of "Freedom," cheered, clapped and hugged.

"It's been a hard journey and this is a symbolic end," said event organiser Zilpha Larsen, of Lehi, Utah. "I just hope that it boosts people up and helps them feel more comfortable in their decision."

The church bills itself as the one "true" Christian faith, and its theology promises families eternal relationships among those who remain faithful, sealing those gifts through special religious rites.
Among the reasons cited by those resigning are the church's political activism against gay marriage and doctrinal teachings that conflict with scientific findings or are perceived as racist or sexist.

Others cite inconsistencies in the Mormons' explanation of its own history, including the practice of polygamy. The church renounced plural marriage over a century ago as Utah was seeking statehood.
Asked about the resignations, a church spokesman said the church loves and respects each member.

"People make their own decisions about the direction they will follow in life," spokesman Michael Purdy said in an email. "While there are very few who take this action, it is sad to see someone choose to leave. We wish them well."

The most recent figures show the Mormon church claims 14.4 million members worldwide. The number of those resigning from the church are not publicly reported.

Among prominent Mormons is Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee facing off against President Barack Obama in November. Should he win office, Romney would be the first Mormon elected to the White House.
Some leaving the church Saturday did so with trepidation, as Mormon culture often stigmatises those who fall away, leaving some without social or business connections.

"It's hard, so we have to be very careful," said Robin Hansen, a participant who said she quit over a "culture of abuse" which she believes is cultivated by church teachings promoting obedience.
Hansen said her husband had not joined her in leaving the faith because he works in a church-related business and could lose his job if he doesn't maintain his membership.

To resign from the church, Mormons must submit a formal letter asking their names be removed from church rolls, a church instructional handbook for lay leaders published on the internet in 2010 shows.

On Saturday, participants filled a basket with their letters for mailing by Larsen, who split with the church over doubts about the veracity of a translation of ancient Egyptian writings which are included in sacred Mormon texts.

A sixth-generation Mormon, Kris Fielding, 35, travelled from Phoenix for the resignation event in part to represent those who do not yet have the courage to do so, he said, including his wife, who worries about reaction from their families.

Married in a Mormon temple, Mr Fielding said the couples shared disaffection from their faith is tied in part to their local church leader's response to questions Fielding had about polyandry and polygamy – taking multiple husbands and wives – in the early church.

"I went to him looking for a faithful perspective. He called my wife and told her she needed to find a new husband," Mr Fielding said.
He said he felt relief after his decision.

"The monkey's off the back ... I don't feel like I have to explain myself or the positions of the church any more."

La scorsa settimana la banca è stata infatti condannata a pagare 290 milioni di sterline per risolvere un contenzioso con le autorità inglesi e americane.

«Gli eventi della scorsa settimana, che hanno evidenziato norme di comportamento inaccettabile all’interno della banca, hanno inferto un colpo devastante alla reputazione di Barclays. Come presidente, sono il garante ultimo della reputazione della banca», ha dichiarato Agius.

Quest’ultimo rimarrà in carica fino alla nomina del nuovo presidente, la cui ricerca è stata affidata a John Sunderland, mentre Michael Rake è stato nominato vicepresidente.

Vicepresedintele Comisiei juridice Florin Iordache (PSD) a precizat ca au fost 12 voturi "pentru" din 12.

Deputatii PDL au parasit, marti, sedinta Comisiei juridice în care urma sa se discute despre cererea USL de revocare din functie a Robertei Anastase, dupa ce au solicitat o amânare a lucrarilor comisiei pâna miercuri dimineata pentru ca Anastase sa-si formuleze apararea. Imediat si jurnalistii au fost invitati sa iasa din sala pentru a se da votul în privinta cererii de revocare a Robertei Anastase.

Presedintele Camerei Deputatilor, Roberta Anastase, le-a transmis deputatilor din Comisia juridica, printr-un document scris, ca nu cunoaste natura acuzatiilor care i se aduc si le-a solicitat sa-i acorde un termen rezonabil pâna miercuri dimineata pentru a-si formula apararea si pentru a consulta stenograma sedintei în care aceasta ar fi încalcat Regulamentul.

The undercover journalist who blew the whistle on G4S, the security company responsible for the 2012 Olympics, along with shocking plans for an evacuation of London, has revealed his identity following fears for his safety.

'Lee Hazledean' -- the whistleblower who exposed how he had infiltrated G4S as an employee and uncovered how security preparations for the Olympics were so poor that they were inviting a terrorist attack, has revealed himself to be Ben Fellows, an acclaimed director who has worked with Stanley Kubrick. Fellows has also appeared in numerous popular television and theatre shows.

Fellows made the decision to reveal his identity, after having gone under a pseudonym for the purposes of radio interviews conducted over the last week, because of fears over his safety.

"With all sincerity I'm now afraid that I might be in physical danger from G4S," Fellows told Infowars, adding that he feared the mainstream media was about to launch a character assassination campaign. "My only protection is to go public.... I have done nothing wrong and I stand by everything that I have said," added Fellows.

Fellows also revealed that Andy Davies, Channel 4 News Home Affairs Correspondent, demanded that he retract statements made during a radio interview with BCFM's Friday Drivetime in which Fellows said of Davies, "I sent him an email, I called, he wasn't interested and he said there's a media blackout on this kind of story, that nobody would be interested in running it."

In a telephone conversation provided to Infowars, Davies claims that he never read Fellows' original email and that the two never had a conversation about the issue.

"I emailed Andy Davies on the 13th of June and pitched the story to him, he then called me back and we talked," claims Fellows, who is now going public to offset his concern that his name may have been privately passed to G4S.

Fellows' revelations about how he infiltrated G4S and what he discovered were nothing less than astounding. However, the mainstream media chose to run a whitewash, focusing instead on relatively tame security lapses and ignoring Fellows' story altogether, despite the fact that it had already gone viral in the alternative media.

Si tratta del dato più alto sia dall'inizio delle serie storiche mensili (gennaio 2004) sia trimestrali (quarto trimestre 1992). E' disoccupato più di un giovane su tre di coloro che partecipano attivamente al mercato del lavoro.

Rispetto all'intera popolazione di giovani tra 15 e 24 anni, a maggio, risulta disoccupato poco più di uno su dieci (10,5%). Il tasso di disoccupazione giovanile è aumentato di 0,9 punti precentuali rispetto ad aprile.

In lieve calo 0,1 punti percentuali rispetto ad aprile la disoccupazione totale. Secondo la stima provvisoria dell'Istat, il tasso di disoccupazione si attesta, a maggio, al 10,1%, in calo di 0,1 punti percentuali rispetto ad aprile (era al 10,2%) e in aumento di 1,9 punti su base annua. Il numero dei disoccupati, pari a 2.584mila, è diminuito dello 0,7% rispetto ad aprile (-18mila unità).

Su base annua, invece, si registra una crescita del 26% pari a 534mila unità. Si tratta della prima diminuzione, anche se minima, del tasso di disoccupazione da febbraio del 2011, quindi da quasi un anno e mezzo. Tuttavia i tecnici dell'Istat spiegano che il quadro resta «sostanzialmente stazionario» con la disoccupazione che rimane su «valori molto elevati».

Partidul National Liberal din Republica Moldova a câstigat procesul cu Ministerul Justitiei moldovenesc. Informează www.arena.md, Curtea de Apel a obligat Ministerul Justitiei să admită înregistrarea noului statut al formatiunii, care are drept obiectiv politic unirea Republicii Moldova cu România.

Liderul PNL, Vitalia Pavlicenco asteaptă să vadă dacă Ministerul Justitiei va contesta decizia la Curtea Supremă de Justitie a Republicii Moldova. ,,Ar fi o rusine pentru guvernare dacă vor face acest lucru”, a declarat Vitalia Pavlicenco.

Partidul National Liberal a depus cererea de chemare în judecată pe 21 martie, pe motiv că Ministerul Justitiei a refuzat modificarea statutului formatiunii pentru că ar fi încălcat suveranitatea Republicii Moldova. Prima instantă a dat câstig de cauză Ministerului Justitiei.

La începutul lunii martie, Oleg Efrim, ministrul Justitiei, a sesizat Curtea Constitutională privind initiativa Partidului National Liberal de a introduce în statutul său obiectivul unirii Republicii Moldova cu România. Institutia a solicitat interpretarea articolului 41, alineat 4, din Constitutie, care prevede că partidele care militează împotriva independentei si suveranitătii statului sunt neconstitutionale. Deocamdată, Curtea Constitutională nu s-a pronuntat pe marginea acestei chestiuni.

The No 3 reactor at the Oi atomic plant, in the central Japan prefecture of Fukui, was restarted on Sunday evening and should begin generating electricity on Wednesday, according to officials of Kansai Electric Power Co. The reactor is expected to start operating at full capacity from Sunday.

Restarting the plant has been hugely contentious in Japan, where there has been a public backlash against atomic energy 16 months after the second-worst nuclear accident in history.

A crowd estimated at 150,000-strong protested against the restart outside the official residence of Yoshihiko Noda, the Japanese prime minister, on Friday evening, while some 100 demonstrators used cars in an attempt to block the road to the Oi plant over the weekend.
Protestors clashed briefly with police riot teams after entering the grounds of the facility.

The Japanese government and industry insists that nuclear power is needed if parts of the country are not to experience power cuts in the coming months. Energy consumption surges in Japan's notoriously hot summer months, despite efforts to encourage people to reduce the amount they use, particularly on air conditioning.

On Monday, electricity savings targets set by the government went into effect across the country. Households and businesses are being asked to cut their energy consumption by as much as 15 percent until September 7.
Utilities are still warning, however, that they may have to impose rolling blackouts in areas where demand is outstripping supply.

One of the most critical areas is the Kansai area, centered on Japan's second city of Osaka, and partly supplied by the Oi nuclear facility.
The Oi reactor is the first of Japan's 51 commercial reactors to go back on-line, although the No. 4 reactor at the plant is also scheduled to go back into operation before the end of July.

On Sunday, emergency teams at the crippled Fukushima plant managed to restore the cooling system for the spent fuel pool, where the temperature of the water had risen nearly 10 degrees after the power unit failed.

Another fault in early June had a similar effect on the pool, which contains 1,353 fuel assemblies that would release massive amounts of radiation if exposed to the air.

Nel giorno in cui il presidente del Senato torna a lanciare un monito affinché le forze politiche mettano mano con coraggio alla riforma del finanziamento pubblico ai partiti, l’attribuzionedell’ultima tranche dei rimborsi elettorali ai terremotati si allontana ulteriormente. Il decreto che doveva accelerare i tempi per bloccare lo stanziamento di fine luglio alle forze politiche, infatti, è stato (almeno per ora) bloccato.

«Il finanziamento pubblico dei partiti deve essere ridotto», ha dettato ieri Schifani, «ma soprattutto servono regole da codificare e da rendere obbligatorie all'interno di ogni compagine politica, possibilmente accompagnate da sanzioni severe per coloro che le disattendono». Il presidente del Senato è intervenuto a palazzo Madama alla presentazione di un libro del ministro Riccardi alla presenza del presidente del Consiglio. E proprio in Senato è in corso l’esame della riforma sul finanziamento pubblico.

Intanto, come si diceva, si infittisce il mistero dell’ultima tranche dei rimborsi elettorali da destinare ai terremotati dell’Abruzzo e dell’Emilia, in un rimpallo di responsabilità tra governo, partiti e Camere. Ricapitoliamo. L’articolo 16 del disegno di legge n. 3321 approvato dalla Camera dei Deputati il 24 maggio scorso, votato in modo trasversale dalle forze politiche sull’onda dell’emozione per il sisma, prevedeva che «i risparmi derivati dall’attuazione dell’articolo 1 negli anni 2012 e 2013» (e cioè il dimezzamento dei rimborsi elettorali pari a 91 milioni nel 2012 e a 69 nel 2013 per un totale di 160 milioni) venissero destinati ai terremotati «colpiti da calamità naturali a partire dal I gennaio 2009». E dunque non solo quelli dell’Emilia ma anche dell’Aquila. Sulla carta, però.

La Camera ha infatti varato un ddl che non prevede l’immediata entrata in vigore del testo, ma che si rifà ai rituali 15 giorni per la pubblicazione in Gazzetta ufficiale, più altri 15 necessari al Tesoro per stornare i fondi. Il fatto è che il 31 luglio prossimo i rimborsi elettorali, se non interviene prima una norma ad hoc, entreranno nella piena disponibilità dei partiti. Il tam tam della Rete e la denuncia di due senatori radicali, Poretti e Perduca, aveva sollevato nei giorni scorsi l’allarme: il termine, sostenevano, sarebbe scaduto il primo luglio. Ergo: serve un decreto d’urgenza del governo che eviti il furto dei soldi per i terremotati. Molti, Pd in testa, negano che quella sia la data giusta e ne indicano un’altra: il 31 luglio, appunto, quando effettivamente la rata di finanziamento ai partiti verrebbe a scadenza. In più, giudicano già «indisponibili» per i partiti quei soldi, visto che un ramo del Parlamento ha già deciso sul loro utilizzo. Perduca e i radicali ribattono ironici: le leggi diventano tali quando ad approvarle sono le due Camere... E il guaio è che il ddl sui partiti è stato trasmesso al Senato il 20 giugno, ma ad oggi non ha fatto un passo in avanti.

E’ all’esame della I commissione, Affari costituzionali, presieduta da Carlo Vizzini, nell’occhio del ciclone per le riforme istituzionali che si rimpalla con l’aula, già ingolfata da tre decreti da convertire. Insomma, tutto esaurito. Senza dire che se il ddl venisse cambiato anche in un solo articolo (cosa molto probabile) dovrebbe tornare un’altra volta alla Camera. Stando così le cose, e prefigurando già l’inevitabile flop, Vizzini aveva ottenuto nelle scorse settimane formale garanzia dal ministro per la Funzione pubblica, Patroni Griffi, che il governo avrebbe fatto un decreto ad hoc. Decreto che però non è arrivato né il 27 giugno né, come molti senatori credevano, ieri, 2 luglio, nonostante una riunione lampo del Consiglio dei ministri convocato per altre scadenze.

Il governo, infatti, per il momento di nuovi decreti non vuol sentir parlare: «E’ il Senato che ha perso tempo, ma possono recuperare», spiegano al ministero per i Rapporti con il Parlamento. Vizzini non ci sta: «Il governo si era impegnato solennemente a fare e subito il decreto, vorrà dire che farò ritirare tutti gli emendamenti e manderò il ddl sui partiti in aula subito, anche senza relatore». Il guaio è che gli emendamenti sono oltre duecento e che alcuni partiti (radicali in testa) non intendono ritirarli. Si prevedono due settimane, almeno, di passione, tra commissione e aula. «Al massimo riusciamo ad approvarlo prima della pausa agostana», sospira il democrat Stefano Ceccanti. I soldi per i terremotati finirebbero così dritti nelle tasche dei partiti. Il tesoriere del Pd, Antonio Misiani, lo nega: «I nostri 29 milioni no di certo, li daremo ai terremotati in ogni caso».
