Researchers used text messaging to build up a map of what activities people routinely rated as bringing the most and least happiness to their daily lives and found that sex ranked first in all three categories measured in the survey: Pleasure, meaning and engagement.
Drinking alcohol or partying came second in terms of pleasure but only 10th in terms of meaning, the Daily Mail reported.
Using Facebook and doing housework both ranked low on the happiness scale, according to the study compiled by Carsten Grimm from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.
Feeling sick was lowest rated in terms of pleasure, it revealed.
Grimm used mobile-phone text-messaging to collect data on what people did during the day and how they felt about it, a technique called 'experience sampling'.
“Those who tend to be high on all three orientations to happiness not only score high on life satisfaction, they also tend to have higher experiences of pleasure, meaning, engagement and happiness in their daily lives. This means that being able to seek happiness in different ways may enrich your everyday experience and increase your overall well-being,” he said.

Il PIL non tiene conto della salute delle nostre famiglie, della qualità della loro educazione o della gioia dei loro momenti di svago. Non comprende la bellezza della nostra poesia o la solidità dei valori familiari, l'intelligenza del nostro dibattere o l'onestà dei nostri pubblici dipendenti. Non tiene conto né della giustizia nei nostri tribunali, né dell'equità nei rapporti fra di noi.

Ma adesso dovremo occuparci delle primarie ed immediatamente dopo delle elezioni... poi del governo e della continuità e quindi del sasso cangiante delle farfalle multicolori... insomma c'è tempo.
E l'impoverimento continua... come da progetto globale, la creazione della massa dei diseredati, che favorisca la creazione del Medio evo prossimo venturo e il " ricatto della povertà" per chi ancora s'illude d'essere borghese...
Uno spauracchio che avvalori la tesi dell'assoluta necessità di questo modello di mondo... perchè qualsiasi altro sarebbe destabilizzante e spaventevole.

Colony Collapse Disorder is poisoning with a known insect neurotoxin. Clothianidin, a pesticide manufactured by Bayer, has been clearly linked to die offs in Germany and France.
Although the bee die offs that have occurred recently are more severe, there have been many in the past from the same and similar products. In North Dakota, a lawsuit is pending against Bayer for the loss of their bees in 1995, the result of spraying rapeseed with Imidacloprid. In 1999, the same product was banned in France for use as a seed dressing for sunflowers when they lost one-third of their hives after widespread spraying. In 2004, it was banned for use on corn. Recently, France refused to approve Bayer's request to sell Clothianidin.
Clothianidin and Imidacloprid are both members of a class of pesticides called neonicotinoids. They are well known as insect neurotoxins, especially with regard to bees. The spokesperson for the Coalition Against Bayer Dangers, based in Germany, stated, "We have been pointing out the risks of neonicotinoids for almost 10 years now. This proves without a doubt that the chemicals can come into contact with bees and kill them. These pesticides shouldn't be on the market."
Not a Surprise
That neonicotinoids are potent neurotoxins, especially in insects, is unsurprising. They were developed for precisely that purpose. Bayer says that their use is safe for bees, when used according to instructions. This involves using a glue that keeps the pesticides stuck to the seeds on which they're used.
There are many problems with this. Agribusiness corporations are known to evade anything that costs them money. The glue costs money. The equipment and personnel required to apply it costs money. More careful pesticide application to try to keep it from becoming airborne costs money. Obviously, both unscrupulous agribusiness farmers and unknowing small farmers -- not to mention home gardeners -- will, at least occasionally, not use the glue.
Even then, it's impossible to believe that a fair amount of these pesticides won't become airborne. Further, their residue will poison the soil. It will be passed on into foods, which means that insects will come into contact with it there.
Pharmaceutical Connection
Isn't it interesting that a major pharmaceutical manufacturer, Bayer, also makes a product that is a poison by design? Bayer is not an exception. Many, if not most, do business in both arenas. That alone should give pause for thought.

Mythical Disease
Mike Adams has humorously shown with his Disease-Mongering Engine (naturalnews.com), which creates new diseases at the push of a mouse button, how easily phony diseases can be created to sell pharmaceuticals and fatten the pocketbooks of the medical world. The same technique has been used to cloak massive bee die-offs with an air of mystery.
Colony Collapse Disorder is a false name that serves to mislead the public into believing that there's a new, mystery disorder, probably something very complex, that needs tons of money to be thrown at it so that every possible angle can be studied. The reason is simple. By misdirecting the public, and apparently many professionals too, the real reason for bee die-offs is obscured.
This is very much like the misleading pseudoscience that supposedly debunks global climate change by giving a false impression that there is no consensus among scientists. By stirring pesticides into a mix of other supposedly possible causes, such as bacterial infections, fungal infections, and environmental stress, a false controversy is created. That results in precious time being wasted, while we really do move into a world without bees. At the same time, money is being thrown at scientists, who should know better, but being just as human as the rest of us, they're tempted.
Eventually, the real cause starts to become obvious, as is happening now in bee die-offs. However, the guilty party, the one making obscene profits by selling neurotoxic poisons that destroy the earth, launches a campaign of disingenuous lies, misdirection, and lawsuits to continue to sell their contaminants as long as possible.
Meanwhile, we're being told that we must prepare to live in a world without bees, as if it's inevitable. All because of Colony Collapse Disorder, a cleverly marketed nonexistent disease. We live in fear of the implications of no bees, when the real threat is poisons manufactured for the sole benefit of obscene profits.

Scientists have discovered that a powerful chemical component of the illegal drug can regulate blood glucose levels.
The pill’s makers say the potential new treatment has shown “promising results” and could become a major new weapon in the fight against Type-2 diabetes.
A simple pill to tackle the condition will be welcomed by the millions already struck down by the illness.
Although the condition can be turned if people adopt simple lifestyle changes to help them lose weight, a revolutionary new treatment could help the thousands of patients who do not respond to the commonly used drug, metformin.
Type-2 diabetes patients suffer from lack of insulin, the hormone which helps to control blood sugar levels.
While some can treat the Type-2 illness by making changes to diet, others have to take metformin.
However, this drug can become ineffective in the long term for many patients.
Usually, patients who do not respond to metformin alone are offered other drugs as well.
But these can lead to low blood sugar levels and weight gain putting patients at increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
Now, drug maker GW Pharmaceuticals has reported results from a phase two study which has shown its cannabis-based drug, known as GWP42004, has potential as a new treatment for Type-2 diabetes.
The study looked at a number of significant outcomes of the treatment in patients with the condition and showed consistent evidence of anti-diabetic effects.
Dr Garry Tan, consultant physician at NIHR Biomedical Research Centre in the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism, and the study’s principal investigator, said: “The positive findings from this early stage exploratory study are very encouraging.
“If larger studies confirm these findings, GWP42004 would have the potential to offer a treatment option within one of the largest therapeutic areas where there still exist serious unmet medical needs.”
By the looks of their home, Tony and Christine Clark are raising two rambunctious 7-year-old boys. Model train tracks and Monopoly pieces are scattered on tables and cartoons flicker on the TV set.
But the Clarks' two sons are grown men who share only the same interests and emotional fluctuations of little boys. Like the character portrayed by Brad Pitt in the 2008 film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons," Matthew, 39, and Michael, 42, are aging backwards.
Diagnosed with a terminal form of leukodystrophy, one of a group of extremely rare genetic disorders that attack the Myelin, or white matter, in the nervous system, spinal cord, and brain. In the Clarks' case, the condition has not only eroded their physical capacities, but their emotional and mental states as well. Only six years ago, both brothers were holding down jobs and growing their families. Today, they spend their days in the care of their parents, both in their sixties, playing with Mr. Potato Head, fighting over Monopoly, and in rare lucid moments, struggling to understand why their lives have changed so dramatically.
Before the Clark Brothers were diagnosed, they were living independent lives. Michael served in the Royal Air Force and later became a cabinet maker. Matthew worked in a factory and was raising a teenage daughter. Tony and Christine, meanwhile, had retired and moved from the UK to Spain. Then in 2007, both of their sons fell off the radar. They stopped returning their parents' calls and texts, and as the Clark brothers' conditions developed, their lives fell apart.

Michael surfaced in a soup kitchen, and was referred to medical experts by social workers. After an MRI scan, he was diagnosed with the incurable degenerative disorder. Soon after Matthew received the same news. In the U.S. alone, about 1 in 40,000 children are born with a form of the neurodegenerative disease, according to Dr. William Kintner, President of the United Leukodystrophy Foundation. While some forms of the disorder are potentially treatable if discovered in the earliest stages and not all cause an emotional regression, the brothers are unlikely to be cured. "It's very difficult to do anything once progression has occurred," Dr. Kintner tells Yahoo! Shine.

As of April, when the Clarks were first written about in the British press, their mental age was 10. "We will be out walking and things which might interest a toddler interest them, the other day we were walking home when Michael saw a balloon and pointed it out to us," father Tony Clark, told The Telegraph last spring. Today, the brothers are even younger mentally. "Just like small children, they wake up a lot during the night," mom Christine said in an interview published in The Independent this week. "I was up seven times with them last night." After learning of their diagnoses, Tony and Christine returned to the UK and moved in with their sons. Their daily struggles as a family have been chronicled in a British documentary, "The Curious Case of the Clark Brothers," airing Monday in the UK.
Earlier this year, Matthew became a grandfather, when his daughter had a son. But the news for the family was bittersweet, as the Clark brothers' mental age continued to creep backwards. "There's no return to them being cute little boys," said Christine, who regularly manages their tantrums and fights over Monopoly. "They're big strong men—and that presents a quite different set of problems." More recently, even their physical strength began deteriorating. "A few weeks ago, they could still manage with a knife and fork, but now that's getting too difficult for them—they get the food onto their forks, but somehow it all falls off before it reaches their mouths," she said.
Now walking is the next hurdle; Matthew is already confined to a wheelchair.
"The likelihood that they're on a terminal course is fairly certain, but who knows?" says Dr. Kintner, who is familiar with the Clark case but didn't meet the brothers. "If they were citizens of U.S., we'd try to get them to the National Institute of Health for diagnostic work, but in the UK the system is different. There is no comparable organization with genetic diseases, so it's a little more difficult there."
Dr. Kintner estimates there are several million cases of one of the estimated 40 types of leukodystrophies in the U.S., but an exact number is hard to pinpoint. The different forms of the disorder are still being identified and tests for each known type are still being developed. "It's going to take a long time," says Dr. Kintner. "I hope in my lifetime I see a cure for some of them."

Astfel vor fi evitate momentele penibile de tipul acelora care au permis alegerea lui Victor Ponta în fruntea PSD-ului în care diferiti lideri de filiale îsi negociau ca la usa corturilor voturile. O alta dovada a succesului acestui stil de a-si alege liderul este data de numarul foarte mare de participanti la sectiile de votare existente în filialele din întreaga Italie ale partidului, respectiv 9239. Conform informatiilor preluate din presa on.line din Italia pâna la ora 13:30 participasera la vot peste 1.500.000 de persoane, fiind asteptate pâna la ora 20:00, momentul închiderii sectiilor de votare aproximativ 4.000.000 conform organizatorilor.

Il Financial Stability Board (Fsb), l’istituto internazionale di coordinamento dei governi, delle banche centrali e degli organi di controllo per la stabilità finanziaria a livello globale, ha appena pubblicato un importante studio sul sistema bancario ombra, lo “shadow banking” mondiale. I risultati ci sembrano decisamente sconvolgenti.
Lo studio fatto sull’eurozona e su altri 25 paesi evidenzia che a fine 2011 ben 67.000 miliardi di dollari erano gestiti da una “finanza parallela”, al di fuori, quindi, dei controlli e delle regole bancarie vigenti.
La cifra complessiva è pari al 111% del Pil mondiale. E’ la metà delle attività bancarie globali ed è circa un quarto dell’intero sistema finanziario.
In dieci anni è cresciuta di ben 41mila miliardi di dollari. Oggi supera il picco di 62mila miliardi raggiunto nel 2007 prima della crisi.
E’ più che mai allarmante il fatto che sia aumentata di oltre 7mila miliardi solo nel 2011! In barba a tutti i summit internazionali dedicati alla riforma della finanza speculativa! Ciò ovviamente conferma il sostanziale fallimento dei vari G8 e G20.
Il sistema bancario ombra è composto da tutte le transazioni finanziarie fatte fuori dalle regolari operazioni bancarie che, come noto, operano attraverso i conto correnti e con i risparmi dei cittadini e delle imprese. Esse sono operazioni fatte da differenti intermediari finanziari, come certi hedge fund, fondi monetari e obbligazionari, certi fondi equity, broker dealer e soprattutto operatori collocatori di derivati finanziari. Sono tutte attività rigorosamente “over the counter” (otc), cioè stipulate fuori dai mercati borsistici e spesso tenute anche fuori dai bilanci.
Ma al di la degli aspetti tecnici e dei differenti settori economici di applicazione, si tratta di strumenti finanziari che creano forme di credito a lungo termine sulla base però di fondi a breve e brevissimo termine, che operano con una leva finanziaria pazzesca, spesso di parecchie centinaia di volte superiore al sottostante iniziale.
Lo studio indica anche come il cosiddetto “maturity/liquidity transformation”, cioè il difficile rapporto tra le scadenze di lungo termine di certe operazioni finanziarie e la necessità di trovare la liquidità a breve in caso di necessità, sia sempre stato e sia la fonte principale dell’attuale crisi sistemica.
Dei 67.000 miliardi, gli Usa ne gestiscono 23.000 mentre la zona euro 22.000. Ma è la Gran Bretagna che, non in termini assoluti ma in rapporto al suo effettivo e limitato potere economico, gioca la parte del leone con ben 9.000 miliardi. Si ricordi che il suo Pil è quasi un settimo di quello americano, ma manovra un volume più di un terzo delle operazioni ombra americane. Dopo la crisi lo “shadow banking” di Londra è cresciuto annualmente del 10%.
Un caso particolare tutto da studiare è quello dei Paesi Bassi che hanno visto un tasso di crescita del 45%. In verità la storia ci ha fatto conoscere un sistema bancario e finanziario “anglo-dutch” che ha sempre determinato gli assetti geopolitici e coloniali. Quindi non è un caso se oggi mette i bastoni tra le ruote dell’Unione europea, dell’euro e dei lavori della grande riforma finanziaria contro la speculazione.
Oltre alle sue gigantesche e documentate dimensioni, l’altro aspetto di grande preoccupazione del sistema bancario ombra è il suo rapporto con il sistema bancario ufficiale.
Noi possiamo affermare che il “sistema ombra” spesso è un’emanazione delle grandi banche internazionali che hanno interesse ad aggirare le regole e i controlli cui sono sottoposte.
Secondo noi lo “shadow banking” non è fatto da pirati completamente fuorilegge e contro ogni autorità preposta. I banchieri ombra sono forse più simili ai bucanieri “indipendenti”, come il noto Francis Drake che imperversava nei mari terrorizzando navi e mercantili, ma era al servizio della corona britannica.
Davvero disarmante è poi la parte dello studio del Fsb dedicata alle misure di riforma da intraprendere. Si è ancora in alto mare. Si parla di raccolta dati, di catalogare i vari intermediatori finanziari e le varie operazioni secondo i settori di intervento, ecc.
Questa situazione di incertezza evidentemente rivela la forte influenza della lobby dello “shadow banking” e delle grandi banche finanziarie. Non è tollerabile che a 4 anni dal fallimento della Lehman Brothers e dall’inizio della crisi sistemica non si sia fatto nulla per riformare la grande finanza.
Naturalmente non è colpa del Fsb e dei suoi analisti. E’ tutta colpa dei governi e della loro subalternità ai veri poteri forti della finanza mondiale.
